Jerusalem/Beirut, April 13 (IANS) Almost 40 rockets have been fired from Lebanon at northern Israel on Friday night time, inflicting no casualties, following Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon, Israel army stated.
The rockets triggered sirens in a number of communities throughout the Higher Galilee in northern Israel, Xinhua information company reported.
Israel Protection Forces (IDF) Spokesman Daniel Hagari instructed a press briefing that many of the rockets fell in open fields, inflicting no accidents.
Lebanese army group Hezbollah confirmed in a press release on Friday of firing dozens of Katyusha rockets on the Al-Zaoura website within the occupied territories.
Hezbollah stated the rockets have been fired in response to Israel’s airstrikes on the villages of Aita al-Shaab and Al-Taybeh earlier on Friday night.
Based on an Israeli army assertion, the strikes focused army compounds belonging to Hezbollah, an Iranian-backed armed group and political social gathering.
Earlier on Friday, two Hezbollah drones carrying explosives that had crossed from Lebanon into Israeli territory have been intercepted.
