Sanaa, Feb 4 (IANS) Houthi camps in Yemen’s capital Sanaa have been reportedly hit by airstrikes.
The airstrikes on Saturday night time hit camps round Sanaa, and the sound of many fighter jets could possibly be heard in downtown Sanaa, Xinhua information company reported, citing native residents.
The explosions occurred within the northern and southern mountains surrounding the capital, added the residents.
In the meantime, the Houthi-run Al Masirah TV mentioned “US-British aggression” launched airstrikes on targets within the capital metropolis on Saturday night time.
The US-British maritime coalition didn’t touch upon the strikes. Nevertheless, US media quoted unnamed navy officers who mentioned the US military hit over 30 Houthis on Saturday in varied places in Yemen, together with the capital Sanaa.
The officers claimed the airstrikes had been a part of the response to the drone assault that killed three US troopers in Jordan final week.
